About stockcalculator.in
stockcalculator.in exists because Indian retail investors deserve calculators that show their work. Most tools in this space give you a number and nothing else — no formula, no source for the tax rate they quietly assumed, no indication of when that rate was last checked. We built the opposite: every calculator here explains its math, cites its figures, and dates those citations.
Who is behind this
The site is maintained by the stockcalculator.in Editorial Desk, a small team of finance writers and developers. We are not SEBI-registered investment advisers, and we do not sell stock tips, advisory subscriptions, or courses. Our only product is free, well-sourced calculation tools. Questions or corrections reach us at editor@stockcalculator.in.
Editorial standards
- Any tax slab, exemption threshold, levy, or broker fee shown on a page carries a link to its official source and the date we verified it.
- Every calculation formula is published on the page alongside a worked example with real arithmetic, so results can be checked by hand.
- Calculation code lives behind unit tests that cover zero, negative, and boundary inputs before a tool goes live.
- When a rule changes — a Finance Act amendment, a broker revising charges — we re-verify and update the affected pages, and the last-updated date moves with the change.
- Pages never contain filler written to please search engines; if a topic needs two paragraphs, we write two good ones.
Independence
Broker comparisons on this site are ordered alphabetically, not by commercial arrangement, and fee tables mirror each broker's own published pricing page rather than any affiliate feed. If that ever changes, the change will be disclosed on the page concerned.
